This week, we are proud to spotlight Professor Adebola Oketola-Adeyi, an inspiring participant in our Engage and Excel programme, which is aimed at supporting women into enterprise and economic engagement in the North East. Professor Adebola Oketola-Adeyi is a Professor of Analytical and Environmental Chemistry, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry, lecturer, mentor, and founder of STEMTalents Education CIC. Through her work in education and outreach, she has become a passionate advocate for academic achievement, confidence-building and inclusive support, helping individuals from diverse backgrounds to recognise their strengths and pursue their ambitions.
With extensive experience supporting diverse student and professional communities, Professor Adebola provides personalised mentoring that helps people build clarity, confidence and direction in their academic, career and personal development journeys. Her approach goes beyond qualifications alone, encouraging self-belief, resilience, ambition and the mindset needed to progress into leadership, enterprise and wider economic participation.
Through STEMTalents Education CIC, she continues to create opportunities for learners and aspiring professionals to thrive in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. By opening doors to knowledge, guidance and encouragement, she is actively engaging others in their potential and supporting them to excel in ways that can lead to long-term growth, opportunity and impact.
