Gateshead, North East England – Women Empowerment and Wellness Network CIC (WEWN) has received a £500 grant from the Hadrian Trust to support its core work empowering women and families across Gateshead, South Tyneside, and the wider North East.
WEWN delivers culturally responsive programmes in wellbeing, mental health, employability, skills development, advocacy, leadership, and community engagement, with a focus on women from minority, migrant, refugee, and underserved communities.
The grant will help cover essential operational costs, enabling WEWN to continue providing safe, inclusive spaces, workshops, outreach, peer support, and partnership activities for around 300 women each year.
“We are incredibly grateful to the Hadrian Trust for this valuable support. This grant will help us continue reaching women facing barriers such as isolation, trauma, career development challenges, and limited access to services,” said Shamiso Dirahu, Founding Director of WEWN.
