We are delighted to announce that The Barbour Foundation has awarded £12,702 to support WEWN's project coordination costs for a 12-month period from 8 October.

This investment is more than operational support. It provides the coordination capacity needed to strengthen the delivery, development, and oversight of activities that directly benefit the women, families, and communities we serve.

Through this funding, WEWN will be able to effectively coordinate and facilitate a range of programmes, events, and community engagement activities, including:

Women's health and wellbeing workshops.

Employability, skills development, and entrepreneurship support sessions.

Community outreach and engagement events.

Peer support networks for women facing social, economic, and health-related challenges.

Partnership-building activities with local organisations and stakeholders.

Volunteer coordination, training, and development opportunities.

Safeguarding, referral, and support services that ensure women can access the help they need at the right time.

The grant will also strengthen the behind-the-scenes work that makes these activities possible, including project planning, partnership management, monitoring and evaluation, beneficiary engagement, and the day-to-day coordination required to deliver high-quality services.

At WEWN, we understand that meaningful community impact relies on strong coordination and effective delivery. The Barbour Foundation's support enables us to maintain this essential infrastructure while continuing to grow our reach and respond to the needs of women and communities across the North East.

We extend our sincere thanks to The Barbour Foundation for its confidence in our work and its commitment to supporting community-led change. Together, we are helping to create stronger, healthier, and more resilient communities where women can thrive.
